The Order Lifecycle
What Happens After a Customer Places an Order?
Every step from purchase to delivery — and exactly who is responsible for each one. No step is hidden, and nothing is assumed to be "handled" without saying by whom.
Who's who in every order
Fitzy provides the storefront, fitment engine, supplier routing, and fulfillment coordination. The dealer owns the brand, pricing, customer relationship, and any local installation. Suppliers hold the inventory and ship it. Stripe processes payment. Carriers move the freight. Installers mount and balance when the order calls for it.
- 1
The customer enters their vehicle information
On your store, widget, or in-shop tablet, the customer selects their year, make, and model. This constrains everything they see next to products verified compatible with that exact vehicle.
CustomerFitzy - 2
Fitzy displays compatible wheels, tires, and packages
The fitment engine filters the live catalog by bolt pattern, offset, center bore, and tire sizing, and shows only in-stock products from the integrated supplier network — at the retail prices set by your markup rules.
Fitzy - 3
The customer selects products and completes payment
Checkout runs through Stripe. The customer pays your full retail price by card, or splits it with Affirm or Snap financing. The dealer's markup is defined before this moment by the pricing rules in the dealer dashboard.
CustomerPayment Processor - 4
The order and fitment details are reviewed
The order's vehicle data and product specs are checked against the fitment record before anything ships — the last gate against a mismatch reaching a freight truck.
Fitzy - 5
The appropriate supplier receives the order
Fitzy routes the order to a supplier with confirmed stock and coordinates the wholesale payment. Wheel-and-tire packages that source from different warehouses are split-routed automatically. The dealer does not contact suppliers or forward orders manually.
FitzySupplier - 6
Products are prepared and shipped
The supplier picks, mounts and balances packages where applicable, and hands the shipment to the carrier from their warehouse.
SupplierCarrier - 7
Tracking information is provided
Tracking numbers surface through the platform so the dealer and customer can follow the shipment. Split shipments carry separate tracking.
FitzyCarrier - 8
The order is delivered
Products arrive at the customer's door, at the dealer's shop, or at a designated installer, depending on the shipping choice made at checkout.
Carrier - 9
Installation is completed when applicable
If the order ships to the dealer's shop or an installer, mounting, balancing, and TPMS work is performed locally. Installation labor is the dealer's or installer's own service and revenue — Fitzy does not perform physical installation.

Returns, warranties, or fitment issues are handled per published policy
If something is wrong, Fitzy coordinates return logistics with the supplier network so the dealer isn't stuck managing freight claims. Manufacturer warranties are honored through the supplier and manufacturer. Fitment-error purchases are rare by design, because incompatible products are blocked before payment.

Common Questions
Who does the customer contact if there's a problem with an order?
The customer's relationship is with the dealer whose store they bought from. Behind the scenes, Fitzy handles the supplier coordination, return logistics, and fulfillment support so the dealer isn't doing logistics paperwork.
Does the dealer ever handle the product?
Only if they choose to. Orders can ship directly to the customer, or to the dealer's shop when the dealer offers local installation and wants the labor revenue.
When does the dealer get paid?
The customer pays the full retail price at checkout. The wholesale cost routes to the supplier and the dealer's markup is deposited to the dealer's bank account — the dealer never fronts the product cost.
What happens if the supplier is out of stock after the order is placed?
Live inventory sync prevents most of this — out-of-stock products stop displaying before they can be ordered. If stock changes in the gap between order and fulfillment, Fitzy re-sources from another integrated supplier or resolves the order with the customer.
Who is responsible if a product doesn't fit?
The fitment engine verifies compatibility before payment, which is why mismatches are rare. When an issue does occur, Fitzy coordinates the supplier-side return under the published fitment policy rather than leaving the dealer to fight freight claims alone.
