Compare tire sizes by reading width (mm), aspect ratio (profile), and rim diameter (R) — e.g. 225/45R17 vs 235/40R18. Shop either size in stock at Fitted Rims with free US shipping on qualifying orders. Every order is covered by the Fitted Rims Fitment Guarantee — if we ship the wrong size or spec, we make it right.
A 225/45R17 and 235/40R18 may have similar overall diameter but different width and sidewall height. Use our size landing pages to see in-stock options for each.
Shoppers often compare factory size to one step up (plus-one) or cross-shop brands within the same size. Start from your door-jamb or sidewall spec.
Sometimes — plus-one keeps the same wheel diameter with lower profile. Larger diameter usually requires a larger wheel.
